Pumpkin Heads

Are the pumpkin heads a temp power? Image Link - Snorii 13:39, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Found out, it is a special helmet costume part. Image Link - Snorii 13:51, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Pumpkin head is not a temp power. :) (the only non temp costume piece in this Halloween event i believe). just got it for my character the other day, pretty cool. SaraMC 19:10, 28 October 2008 (UTC)SaraMC

Badge Art

I love the zombie face on the new badges. Just saying.  :) --Eabrace 14:29, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Me too! - Snorii 21:24, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
o.o now we just need to get the artist to show some love on last years badges... --Sleepy Kitty 03:52, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Thursday testing

A couple of specific requests for this Thursday's testing of the event, given I am unlikely to be able to attend:

  1. Faultline. They fixed RWZ for this year's event, have they done similar with Faultline, or is the event inactive there like last year?
  2. Bloody Bay. According to last year's page, BBay had a bug in the event where the zone considered itself a lvl 20 zone for the event, even though everyone was SK/EXed to 25, which made trick or treating in the zone impossible. Could someone please try to ToT in the zone and confirm whether or not ToT works in BBay this year. - Sister Leortha 23:57, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Confirmed as of 2:30 AM EST, 19 October, still can't Trick or Treat in Bloody Bay. Ditto for Ouroboros. Was able to ToT in Cimerora and in RWZ (outside the main base) as a 47th level brute. Would not recommend Cimerora, as there doesn't seem to be much in way of close clusters of mission doors. RWZ seems to be about the best place to ToT for 40+ villains, as it's much more conveniently laid out than Grandville. Urizen 07:23, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Really, Really Long, Really, Really

We should split off some of the stuff into its own page, and then link to them from each of the Halloween Event [Year] pages instead of including them in it. -- Aggelakis 17:01, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Agreed, entirely. I'll work on splitting it up a bit. --Fleeting whisper 16:42, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Ok, the three main portions of the event (ToT, GMs, and Zombies) each have their own article now, as subpages of Halloween Event --Fleeting whisper 17:19, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
While I didn't think it was too long, I reorganized the info. Eternal Night has nothing to do with the Giant Monsters, so I split that info. The Unseelie were being included with Trick or Treating when they are actually connected to the Giant Monsters. I moved badge info to each of the subsidiary pages (Zombie Apocalypse, Trick or Treat, & Giant Monsters) and I created a new Halloween/Badge subsidiary page so that all the badges can be seen at once. I retitled section headings so that the ToC can point people to the right section and the right subsidiary page (e.g., if someone was looking for info on the new unlockable costume piece, the main page had that info buried). So, this front page is now even shorter, and it makes a more thorough reference to all the important bits now buried in the subsidiary pages. I moved almost all the Notes to become part of the proper subsections. And, I put all the pertinent information that's relevant to just 2008 in one section, so that next year, the 2009 page can be cloned leaving out the 2008 info. --Zombie Man 16:27, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

May need to revisit ToT

On Sunday I TOTed solo for a while in Brickstown before hooking up with a team. I was able to click each door at least 2-3 times before I had to move on. Will check it tomorrow since I plan to TOT until all my characters have the extra costume salvage.. I have a ton so that means for two solid weeks! LOL

Also it is still possible to camp ONE door on a team. Yeah after a few click each member has to wait a bit before they can click again but on an 8 man team I stayed at the same door for almost 3 hours and we always had at least one group out to battle. In all I managed all but one costume badge, all but the spirit badge for door villains and have yet to tackle Jack or Eochia. Spirits seem to be very elusive .. you only need 20 but I think in 3 hours I may have seen 2-3. Maybe they are hanging out with Jack in Irons? Just like last year everyone is desperately looking for Jack while Eochia appears regularly. By the way ...I love how the Zombies rise out of the sidewalk.. very cool! The personal timer is ten seconds. The door timer (per character, not per door) is five minutes. You can click a door unlimited number of times, I parked myself in front of two sets of double doors (four doors) along with two to six other teammates and clicked for two hours straight. -- Aggelakis 04:49, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah I just finished ToTing for the night and tried it as soon as I logged on . I forgot I was at a double door and playing solo it took my controller just long enough to polish off the ghouls that emerged when she got a trick that the timer was reset on the first door by the time I clicked it again. Tonight I polished off one mob fast and got a treat from the other door.. I had to relocate. Neither door would let me click! Now an 8 man team can camp at one set of doors for hours TRUST me I know! lol
My 39 level Troller now has all the badges but Jack ... did get to fight him once but it was a small team, we arrived late, and did not do 10% of the total damage ;-( Ahh well there is always tomorrow!
BTW the Zombie invasion is awesome in my opinion. I love how they emerge from out of the ground and the graphic detail is fantastic ... they look really nasty LOL On a good team you can get all 4 badges in one invasion too... much nicer than the Rikiti Invasions and a lot less lag. Okay less in Brickstown anyway just as I was logging for the night one kicked off in Talos and it Lag was awful but it had been bad all night even before the Zombies arrived. One thing I noticed... unlike the Rikti invasions the other villains don't clear the streets which may account for the added lag in Talso which is always the worst zone for lag as far as I am concerned. At least around Wentworths and the train station which is where I was when the invasion started. Think I will do my Zombie fighting elsewhere for the duration . Oh one other question before I head off to bed. Has anyone else noticed that the spawns seem to always be 1-2 levels higher than you? Solo or on a team it has always seemed that I have faced nothing lower than an orange minions while teaming and nothing lower than yellows while soloing. I have also seen a LOT of purples the past two days! Either NC Soft is trying to make it interesting or trying to help us level faster. I teamed with a guy today that had gone up 3 levels (from 35-38) just trick or treating on his day off. My Controller is now a 39 level PLUS and had just made 37 before the event started and I didn't start ToTing until Sunday afternoon and took about 4 hours off from it to do Positron's TF (now all she needs is Numinia TF and she has TF commander). Planning to haul out my Blaster tomorrow and ToT in Peregrin .. seems to be THE hot spot at the momemt. On Sunday I think there were 4 maybe 5 of them and tonight there were at least 3. So many characters, so little time and SOOOOO many badges to earn! I am also trying for as many costume sets as I can for my SG and at this point (for 2008's event) it appears the rarest Halloween costume salvage is ... Lord Recluse's Mask. I have 6 Hamidon Costumes, 4 Brawlers gloves, 2 Stateman's mask and 1 Lord Recluse mask. Of course that's just me. After 2 days from what I've seen the rarest door villain is the Spirits. I finally got that today on my Controller.. the Defender I was playing in Talos later had all the others in 3 hours but once again no badge for defeating 20 Spirits.. I think we saw 3 of them all evening. Jack in Irons seems a bit less shy this year but I still hear a lot more cries for Eochia teams but Jack's been up in almost every zone I have been in the past two days. Unfortunately everyone is after him and I have yet to get to his location in time to help take him down and earn that badge. At one point in Talos we took down Eochia near the Dark Astoria gate and he no sooner dropped than a second spawned in the exact same spot. the same two teams took down both in less than five minutes.Taxibot Sara2.0 04:10, 21 October 2008 (UTC) Taxibot Sara2.0
@.@ I don't know why they did it, but ghosts are definitely rare this year. Last year it was wolves that where rare, but no where near as rare as the ghosts are now. I was looking through the page and we really need to rework it. >.> For instance.. err.. we have 2 sets of zombies, invasion ones and the old door ones. I'm fairly sure they're listed as being from the same group, so the ToT ones should be on the zombies page too (and the "and a new mob this year!" stuff should be corrected to something about a greatly expanded enemy group..)--Sleepykitty 09:05, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Official word from Lighthouse: It's a bug, and while annoying to all, it's not a game breaker, and thus not something worth disrupting I13 testing about in order to get out a fix. - Sister Leortha 00:04, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Need /loc numbers for GM spawns

Moving discussion to [[Talk:Halloween_Event/Giant_Monsters_and_Eternal_Night#Need_.2Floc_numbers_for_GM_spawns]]

Jack O'Lanterns on the Ground

I joined a team to fight Eochai in Steel Canyon and noticed some small Jack o'lanterns on the ground around where he spawned. Is this new for 2008? Do they just appear near Giant Monsters? - Snorii 21:07, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

It's not new this year. I know they appeared with the GM spawns for 2007. I'm relatively (but not completely) certain they did in 2006 as well. I only saw an Eochai (three at once, actually) once during the 2004 event and was still pretty new to the game so I was too amazed by the size of the great big pumpkin creatures passing by the Hollows gate in Atlas to notice if there was anything special on the ground nearby. We were talking a little bit about the pumpkins earlier, too. Link. --Eabrace 21:17, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
o.o they where added in 2006. Whats odd is that the pumpkin's used to spawn with Eochai only and Jack had stylized candles. This year I've been seeing the pumpkins for both.. The pumpkins denote the general wandering range of the GMs and are there to help players find the GMs. An interesting bit of info is that so long as they are there, the next GM won't spawn, even if the previous is long gone and the corpse has disappeared. Once the pumpkins vanish, the new GM has shown up in zone and can be found.
>.> The pumpkins them selves have several different sets of carvings, one of which is the face paint of the band Kiss. OH! and for the ppl who can't see them, turn up your graphics setting! They are there, they're just high on the 'remove this physics fx to reduce graphix card load' list. @.@ I'm still waiting to get these guys into bases as decor! -_- we where promised them 2 yrs ago and still nothing. hopefully next yr.. --Sleepykitty 09:22, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
