Overview

Presence is one of the powersets. It is one of the sets of Power Pools available to all heroes and villains. These powers grant you the ability to provoke or intimidate your enemies.

"You have an impressive presence that manifests in a variety of ways. Whether through charm, persuasion or outright intimidation, you can manipulate your foes' desire to fight you. Though this is a challenging set to master, and can get you into trouble if used injudiciously, the potential benefits are great."

Use this to pull the attention of your foes off of an ally in trouble. This provocation effect is not as powerful as similar powers used by Tankers, and also has a chance to miss.

You can also use this power to fight your way back to the living after defeat - if you are defeated when you use this power, you will be revived with 50% health. Historical

Badge time.png This section contains information that no longer applies to the current version of City of Heroes Freedom. It is provided for historical purposes.
  • Issue 21 reduced the first two powers (Challenge and Provoke) from level 6, to each unlocking at level 4. The third power (Intimidate) still requires level 14 and a single power prerequisite. Issue 21 also reduced the fourth power (Invoke Panic) to level 14, though it still requires two power prerequisites.
  • Issue 24 replaced Challenge with Pacify, and added the Unrelenting power.

Manipulation Taunt.png Challenge

Challenges a foe to attack you. Use this to pull a foe off of an ally in trouble or away from a mob of foes. Not as effective as a typical Scrapper Confront and Challenge powers. An Accuracy check is required to successfully Challenge a target.
