Description

You foiled a plot to undermine the War Walls that protect Paragon City.

How to Get

Obtain War Wall Defender accomplishment badge by completing the Rescue the engineers and prevent the Rikti from bringing down the force fields mission from Phillipa Meraux.

Note

The War Wall Defender badge is awarded to characters of the hero and vigilante alignments. The same badge on villains and rogues is called Saboteur.

Badge bughunter 01.png Bug! This note dates from November, 2006. It may no longer be accurate.

The mission that gives this badge has always been notoriously easy to fail, but recently has been a lot worse. The mission contains several destructible devices around the map. If any of them are destroyed, the mission is a failure.

In the previous, normal behaviour of this mission, care had to be taken not only with the enemies that are spawned around the devices, but with all other mobs on the map, especially the teleporting Rikti Lieutenants. If a Lieutenant teleports away from the player(s), and encounters a device, they will gleefully aggro on the device, usually resulting in destruction of the device, and failure of the mission.

But recently things have gotten even worse, with multiple reports of the mission being failed moments after the player enters the zone. This obviously makes the mission all but impossible to complete successfully.

If the mission is failed because of the bug, and you are the mission holder, first take time to travel to a different zone, and then check your badge menu. The mission holder will almost always get this badge, regardless of success or failure, though the awarding may be delayed, and the graphical display may not appear. If you still do not gain the badge, a petition can be filed to correct the situation and get the badge. See this post on the main CoH boards for detail of how to file such a petition.

From Guyverlord April 08,2008: I just soloed the mission with my defender and there were no problems.
