Overview

Part of Issue 10, the Vanguard brings with it special costume pieces allowing players to match their costumes to the NPC group. These costumes share the invention crafting symbol, but are not part of Issue 9's Invention System. They can only be crafted on Vanguard Crafting Tables located in the Vanguard base within the Rikti War Zone. To craft them you must have the required number of Vanguard Merits and enough inf. While these items are craftable at any level, only characters levels 35 and up can earn Vanguard merits.

Once crafted, these costume pieces are always available on that character.

You need 1,050 Vanguard Merits and 40,000 Influence/Infamy to get every custom piece.

These are given to you by Serpent Drummer during Levantera's Join the Vanguard mission.

Uniform Piece: Vanguard Chest Detail

This will grant you the Vanguard chest armor costume piece.
50 Vanguard Merits and 5000 Inf
This unlocks two versions of the Vanguard chest armor pad accessory as well as the Vanguard texture for the upper body. The texture can be used for virtually any Upper Body shape, including under open jackets and robes. The armor pads can only be added to the Tight shape and the various Robotic Arms shapes. Also, since they appear under "Chest Detail", the pads cannot be combined with a chest logo. (The Vanguard Chest Emblem itself is a Veteran Reward and cannot be bought with Vanguard Merits.)

This is the visor. It is available under "Detail 1" in the Head section for Standard, Masks With Hair, Hats, Hoods, Helmets, and Half Helmets, and under "Detail 2" for Full Masks. (The Vanguard helmet appears only in the Hats category.)
