Overview

Primal Earth is the name that Portal Corporation, founded by Dr. Brian Webb, uses to refer to the dimension that Paragon City and the Rogue Isles originate in, and where the game worlds of City of Heroes and City of Villains are based. Tina Macintyre is Primal Earth's foremost Portal Corps researcher at the moment.

Most folks in this dimension just refer to it as Earth. However, Portal Corps has encountered in excess of thirty different dimensions through their portal technology. Therefore, it is necessary to differentiate between the different "worlds" (dimensions).

Primal/Primals is the name often used for those from Primal Earth, especially to distinguish them from their counterparts from other dimensions.

Dimension Differences

Each dimension has its own timeline, where past events may or may not have happened, and if they did happen, the outcome may have been different.

For instance, Praetoria is under the rule of Emperor Cole, also known as Tyrant, the Praetorian version of Primal Earth's Statesman. Other signature heroes and villains are known to have Praetorian versions of themselves. Note that Portal Corporation refers to Praetoria as the scientific name Upsilon Beta 9-6.

Various other difference may or may not be immediately obvious between the worlds.
