"It was originally thought that animating wings would need to be linked to every animation the body did, so we were going to create an EAT, called Avilians, just for the wings. Then tech came along and gave us wings that animated independently from the rest of the body, so the whole Avilian idea was scrapped, and you got the wings we have today instead." Badge time.png This article contains information about a system or idea that was never implemented into City of Heroes Freedom. It is provided for historical purposes.

Noun

Avilan

  1. A special archetype concept which was never developed fully. This archetype has been designed and is ready and waiting for the right time to be implemented. [1] One hint that we do have about this archetype is from Jack Emmert: "Avilan - think wings..." [2]

On April 28, 2010, Positron revealed more insight into what the Avilans were intended to be on his Twitter:

"It was originally thought that animating wings would need to be linked to every animation the body did, so we were going to create an EAT, called Avilians, just for the wings. Then tech came along and gave us wings that animated independently from the rest of the body, so the whole Avilian idea was scrapped, and you got the wings we have today instead." [3][4][5]
