Flight Speed vs. Flight Powers

And this article has.... what?..... to do with Flight Speed? looks more like a "How to Fly", and almost nothing about the speed of anything. - Sister Leortha 19:00, 8 November 2007 (EST)

You're right, of course. So... what would you do with this page? One solution would be to rename it Flight Powers, and perhaps add a section to it about the relative speeds. Care to take a stab at it? --Jumping Jack 19:44, 8 November 2007 (EST)
The writer here. I was just going through the Most Wanted pages list and saw that a bunch of articles linked to "flight speed" but it didn't exist yet. I just made up something that could serve for the time being. Feel free to change it if it doesn't fit its title.--GreyDog 21:47, 8 November 2007 (EST)
I decided to be bold and move it. "Flight Powers" makes sense to me, and seems like a worthwhile article. Hopefully someone can add some on speeds at some point. -- Sekoia 00:48, 9 November 2007 (EST)
I could wish you'd changed the links along with it to avoid another redirect page; but hey, maybe someone will do a search for Flight Speed anyway... *shrug* --Jumping Jack 19:16, 12 November 2007 (EST)
I'm not sure what you mean, Jack? Redirects are not harmful; in fact, they tend to be pretty helpful. All those "flight speed" links are currently redirecting to Flight#Flight Speed now; Snorii updated it there, because that's more relevant. If someone decides to write an actual Flight Speeds article at some point, they can put it at the Flight Speed page; or if it gets expanded within another page, the redirect can be updated to suit. I'm a bit confused as to what it is you're wishing for different? -- Sekoia 20:17, 12 November 2007 (EST)
If the page "Flight Speed" is something people would look for, that's fine for it to be a redirect. But I dislike having a wikilink TO a redirect page; my inclination is that they link to the target directly, in most cases. (: I fear, though, being told, "go ahead and do it". :) --Jumping Jack 14:17, 13 November 2007 (EST)

The Flight Speed section of this page is fairly large and specific now. It might make sense to move that section back to the Flight Speed page. Also Fly Redirects to this page rather than Flight#Fly which is inconsistent with Hover and Air Superiority, which redirect to Flight#Hover and Flight#Air Superiority respectively. This feels anti intuitive when trying to search for powers. I'm willing to do the work for either of these if people agree with one or both. I just don't want to start changing things suddenly, being new to this game and wiki. --Sigil 20:22, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

More Flight Speed Buffers

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Speed Boost also increases flight speed. I know some of the Kinetics characters I've teamed with in the past have used Hover/Siphon Speed as a method of travel, too. I just don't have a Kinetics character high enough to confirm any of that for myself yet. --Eabrace 14:49, 13 November 2007 (EST)

They do, and so does AM. I added them all. Good catch. :) -- Sekoia 22:36, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Afterburner Numbers

Is it affected by the Flight Speed buff from the Radial Paragon Nerve Alpha Slot Ability? That'd let you get even higher numbers due to the ED bypass, and would also help with how much you need to enhance Fly itself, correct?--Variatas 16:52, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Afterburner's speed cap increase is only affected by fly enhancements slotted in itself. However, you are correct that you wouldn't need to slot Fly as much if you had Nerve Radial Paragon (33% fly speed). ~ AGGE talk/cons 18:07, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
