Contact Introduces

Vagabond is a difficult man to work with. He can go on about all that he's seen for hours if you let him. I try not to, but then again, I value my time.
Vagabond is one of the oldest fighters here in the Resistance. They say that he was an Italian soldier during the Hamidon War and that he travelled the entire war, fighting for various countries before he arrived here.

Information

Former Seer

Beholder is a rare sight to see - a seer who escaped from the control of Praetor Tilman. She believes that she has a short lease on life and goes to great lengths to ensure anyone who deals with her knows this.

Prior to Introduction

I can hear you thinking, hear you talking. But it's not time for us to speak yet. Go away.

Initial Contact

I hear it all, Character. Hatchet's thoughts of his pet. Vagabond's confused memories swirling around, Wardog's knowledge of history. I hear it all and I know it's going to end soon for me. Perhaps for all of us. You're here speaking to me now because I'm aware of your power, of your ability, and of your ability to push morals aside. You are the exact person I need help from. Let's get started with the destruction, shall we?

Greeting

  • Time is running out, Character. For all of us.

Souvenir

Seer Visor

Beholder gave you this Seer Visor from one of the seers you kidnapped. It reminds you of an experience you call...

Power of the Mind

It began with you helping Beholder, a former seer, capture four seers for a plan: to re-wire them as psychic bombs and to broadcast whatever messages the Resistance wanted to send all throughout Praetoria. It was easy enough to capture the seers, though you had to endure Mother Mayhem's voice taunting you while you were doing so.

You had some time to kill while Beholder was re-wiring the seers, so you went to recover information on Hamidon for Wardog. Beholder told you the information you found was apparently valuable, though Wardog refused to explain what it was for.

There was no time to wonder about this, however. Beholder had an issue: there was an aspect of Praetor Tilman controlling one of the seer's minds. You were sent into the woman's mind and destroyed Tilman's presence, freeing the seer from her influence.

Beholder activated the seers, unleashing their psychic blasts onto a specific PPD office, instantly killing everyone inside. You went in after the slaughter to collect information, only to run into what appeared to be sentient Clockwork who were looking for a woman named Penelope. You destroyed the Clockwork and found the information you needed: blueprints on the Behavioral Adjustment Facility in Imperial City.

Beholder told you that Vagabond had tremendous plans for these, but that she was done with being involved in the action. Everything that you did with her had tired her out; she claims she only has a few weeks left to live now and that she intends to live it out by watching the suffering of all those who are against the Resistance.

Part One: Sisters

I believe in laying all the cards on the table from the very start, Character. That makes things faster for everyone. So pay attention, I'm only saying this once. Wardog is planning something very big. To start, he requires four seers. You see, Taosin, seers have the ability to put images directly into minds - a trick that Mother 'taught' all of us. We're going to kidnap seers to act as 'cameras', you could say, for our big event. But these seers will not simply be used as cameras. No, Taosin, these seers are going to be transformed into psychic bombs.

I will re-program their minds to unleash immense psychic shockwaves. It will damage their minds beyond repair, but does it matter, really? Take it from me, Mother has seen to it that their minds are already dead. We're simply putting them to better use.

Sounds ambitious. What's the first step of this plan?

The first step is retrieving those sisters... those seers who will act as our bombs. This is the benefit of working with me, Taosin. My broken, shattered life as a seer has allowed me access to all the secrets that the program has. I can direct you to one of the facilities where seers are commonly kept. That is where our four candidates are. Kidnap them and I will get to work reprogramming their minds. Just be careful. Mother tends to watch over her flock very closely. She may try to probe your mind. Do not worry. Vanessa DeVore and I will keep you protected.

You had better hope that I don't die, however. My time is coming soon; whether it's in one minute or one month is anyone's guess.

Unsolicited Contact

Let's not make a habit talking to each other like this, Character. If I'm going to die at any second, I don't want it to be while talking to you when you should be getting this done.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Recover Seers for Beholder
